Property developer Noel Tynan is planning an American-themed bar on the site of the Gerry Keane wallpaper shop on Talbot Street which he purchased for €2m. The shop closed in January after 53 years in business due to owners and staff reaching retirement age.
Noel Tynan planned a planning application in 2026 to convert the building into an American-themed bar. The Celt bar and Electric Circus cocktail bar sat directly across the street from the site.
Noel Tynan secured planning permission in January to reopen the former Guineys store as a bar and restaurant.
Noel Tynan shared “Given that I own 80-81 Talbot Street, this will be a natural progression. I am thinking of doing a themed bar, based on something from America. Talbot Street is gone as a retail street.”
