Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) handled 6,858,985 passengers in August 2026, a minor 1.1pc decrease compared to August 2025 and 91.5pc of the pre-pandemic traffic benchmark from August 2019.
Rolling annual was 71,842,584, up 1.1pc on the twelve months to July 2025. The total for the first six months of 2026 was 34,523,551, down 0.2pc on the first six months of 2025 and down 5.2pc on pre-pandemic.
According to Groupe ADP’s official statement, broader flight schedule reductions tied to geopolitical conflicts in the Middle East, rising fuel prices, and summer operational pressures impacted the airport’s growth. Extreme heat and airspace congestion also triggered localised flight disruptions and delays during the peak summer weeks. Despite this slight flattening, CDG remains the busiest airport in the European Union and holds the third-place spot for overall seat capacity in Europe, trailing only Istanbul and London Heathrow.
