- Fog hits London airports for second day
More than 2,000 passengers missed connections at Heathrow as fog caused delays for the second successive day.
London’s Met Office has issued a yellow fog warning for much of southern England, warning of poor visibility until the afternoon. Fog also affected flights in Amsterdam and Paris.

Flights to Cologne, Dubai, Dublin, Madrid, Newcastle and the US were amongst those delayed on Thursday.
At London City airport, flights to Amsterdam, Antwerp, Guernsey and Edinburgh were cancelled and others to Europe and the Isle of Man were delayed.
Heathrow tweeted: “Foggy weather may affect scheduled flights today. Please kindly check your flight status with your airline.”
London City Airport said: “Due to earlier foggy weather conditions flights may be subject to delays, passengers are advised to check with airline for flight info.“
At Gatwick, it was reported on social media that an aircraft had got ‘stuck on the grass’.
At Luton Airport has said a technical issue with Air Traffic Control has delayed departures, Luton Airport tweeted: “Air Traffic Control experiencing weather related issues which are affecting departures.”
