Described as an expedition yacht, the ship will also be available for private group experiences and charters. Antarpply has noted that the Aureum will bring together small-group exploration, comfort and the adventurous spirit that has always been part of the brand. According to published deck plans, in addition to 22 guest staterooms, the ship will offer a lounge and a dining room. Other features have included a mudroom, two observation decks, as well as an area equipped with a sauna and a hot tub.

The company has confirmed that the new ship represents a new chapter in its history, adding to the legacy of the Ushuaia. Currently in service for the company, the 1970-built expedition ship will continue to sail in Antarctica alongside the Aureum. The Ushuaia was fully refurbished in 2023, with new hard and soft furnishings across all decks. The 90-guest ship will offer 17 expeditions during the 2027-28 season, visiting the Antarctic Peninsula and South Georgia, complemented by five expedition cruises from the Aureum.
