Dublin-based ASL Aviation Holdings has committed to adding four more Boeing 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighters to the ASL Airlines Australia fleet, expanding its Australian cargo operations. The move strengthens the group’s presence in the Australia and New Zealand air cargo market.
The announcement follows the successful first year of B737-800BCF operations in Australia and the recent launch of services from Western Sydney International Airport. The additional aircraft will enhance the existing freight network and create further opportunities for expansion across the region. Four aircraft have already been identified, with some freighters transferring from the European fleet onto the Australian Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC). The first aircraft arrives in Australia in the coming weeks, with the full transfer programme taking place over the following months.
The investment underlines the group’s confidence in growing demand for dedicated air cargo services across Australia and New Zealand. The additional aircraft increase network flexibility and strengthen the airline’s ability to support express freight, e-commerce and logistics customers throughout the region. The group operates cargo and passenger airlines across Europe, Asia and Oceania, and the transfer of aircraft demonstrates the advantages of operating within a large international aviation network. Company representatives acknowledged the work of the ASL Airlines Australia team in preparing for the arrival of the new aircraft and supporting the next phase of growth.
