The 46th Australian Tourism Exchange has concluded in Adelaide after a highly successful four-day event that ran from 10 May to 14 May 2026.
The Australian Tourism Exchange 2026 has drawn strong international participation in Adelaide. More than 2700 attendees including 730 buyers and travel agents from 32 countries have gathered at the Adelaide Convention Centre for the four day event that runs from 10 May to 14 May. Organisers have scheduled over 55000 business appointments between global buyers and 1400 Australian industry representatives from 674 tourism organisations.
The event has introduced 74 new tourism products and welcomed 131 new buyer organisations for the first time. It has delivered an estimated economic boost of 13.6 million Australian dollars to the South Australian economy through delegate spending and related activities. Participants have engaged in networking sessions and familiarisation tours that showcase local offerings alongside national experiences.
South Australia has hosted the event in partnership with Tourism Australia marking the first time since 2018 that Adelaide has welcomed the trade show. Buyers have conducted one on one meetings to negotiate packages and build forward business for the coming seasons.
A record number of 74 new tourism products launched at the event while 131 buyer organisations attended for the first time, signalling robust demand and fresh opportunities for Australian tourism operators. South Australia presented its largest ever contingent of sellers, and participants highlighted experiences in wildlife, food and wine, cultural heritage and Aboriginal tourism. The event has strengthened global partnerships and positioned Australia for continued international visitor growth in the coming years.
