GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes has launched its first long-haul route to Europe on 16 to 17 September 2026 between Lisbon and Rio de Janeiro International with an A330-200 wet leased from fellow Abra Group carrier Wamos Air. Flight G37021 departed Lisbon at 2330L on 16 September and arrived at Rio de Janeiro at 0530L on 17 September. GOL already wet leases another A330-200 from Wamos which flies between Rio and New York JFK.
The route between Rio and Lisbon is also served by TAP Portugal as a codeshare with Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras while LATAM Airlines connects Lisbon with São Paulo Guarulhos. GOL’s entry into the European market marks a significant expansion of its international network. The A330-200 used for the inaugural flight carried registration EC-MAJ.
