British Airways flight BA2660 from London Gatwick Airport to Faro, Portugal, was forced to make an emergency U-turn on Tuesday, 13 October 2026, after a passenger window cracked mid-flight. The service was operated by BA Euroflyer using an Airbus A321-200.

The aircraft departed London Gatwick around 9:00 AM local time. Roughly an hour into the trip while cruising over north-western France near Brittany, the crew identified structural damage to a window panel on the right side of the aircraft near row 3R. The flight deck issued a squawk 7700 emergency code and initiated an immediate U-turn, abandoning its route to the Algarve.

The aircraft returned to Gatwick Airport where it was met on the tarmac by emergency ground crews as a standard safety precaution. It landed safely without further incident. British Airways attributed the diversion to a minor technical issue and apologised to passengers, confirming that teams were working to get travellers’ plans back on track. No injuries were reported on board.
