
The shortlist has been announced for the UNWTO Awards for Innovation in Tourism.
The UNWTO Awards Ceremony will be held on 18 January 2017 in Madrid, in collaboration with IFEMA/FIITUR for the fourth consecutive time.
The Ceremony will be preceded by the annual UNWTO Awards Forum on 16 January 2017 at Palacio Neptuno, Madrid.
The UNWTO Ulysses Prize for Excellence in the Creation and Dissemination of Knowledge has already been awarded and will be presented to Professor Geoffrey Wall for his work on tourism and climate change.
Professor Wall’s ecotourism assessment framework and economic impacts assessment models have been effectively implemented in parks and protected areas in many parts of the world. Most of his research has been undertaken in Asia, with a recent emphasis on natural and cultural heritage and indigenous people.
