Carnival Cruise Line retains elegant nights onboard
Shorter cruises may offer white nights as alternative

Carnival Cruise Line Brand Ambassador John Heald has confirmed the company will not remove elegant nights from its onboard programming. Heald stated that, while some short cruises might have different themed evenings, elegant nights are not going anywhere. On a few ships with shorter itineraries, guests will instead have a white night with an evening program similar to elegant night.

Heald explained that the main difference between the two themed nights is that guests on white nights are encouraged to wear white and join in the theme if they wish. The celebration continues with the White Hot Deck Party later that evening, with guests on these sailings notified by email before their cruises. Carnival will also continue to serve lobster in the main dining rooms on cruises of six days or longer, except for cruises in Alaska, Europe and Australia where sourcing has been an issue.

Heald addressed rumours recently spread on cruise pages and forums, denying that any changes are coming to the company’s current product. The Brand Ambassador completed his 39th year with Carnival earlier this year, having first joined the company as a bar waiter in the late 1980s. Carnival President Christine Duffy will join Heald onboard Carnival Magic for a special sailing in early 2027, with the six-night voyage from PortMiami representing the company’s first President’s Cruise.
