Carnival Corporation has announced an order for three new ships for its Carnival Cruise Line brand, which will be part of a new class of vessels at nearly 230,000 gross registered tons.

The LNG-powered ships will be built by Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri and delivered in the summers of 2029, 2031, and 2033, respectively.

The order for these new ships is part of the company’s strategy to optimize its brand portfolio and increase guest capacity for Carnival Cruise Line, with previous orders for two Excel-class ships expected to join the fleet in 2027 and 2028.

With this order, Carnival Corporation’s newbuild pipeline includes one delivery in each 2025, 2027, 2028, 2029, 2031, and 2033, bringing the total LNG-powered ships to 16, making up almost 30% of the global capacity and delivering greenhouse gas emission reductions.
