Valencia-based Casual Hoteles expands beyond Europe to Caribbean

Casual Hoteles launched first non-European project in Bayahíbe, Dominican Republic

Valencia-based hotel chain Casual Hoteles has officially launched its first project outside Europe, expanding into the Caribbean with a new complex in Bayahíbe, Dominican Republic. Traditionally focused on urban boutique hotels, the company is using this project to break into the long-distance vacation segment while intentionally stepping away from massive, isolated all-inclusive resorts that dominate the region.

The new project consists of three distinct lodging concepts built around different guest experiences: Casual On The Beach Bayahíbe positioned along the waterfront focusing on coastal and marina views, Casual Edén Bayahíbe located in the Dominicus area amidst tropical gardens, and Casual Green Village Bayahíbe aimed at nature and eco-tourism situated next to the Cotubanamá National Park. The brand debuts with a first phase of 73 rooms, adding another 24 rooms by December to reach a total of 97 rooms.

With this expansion, the Valencia-founded hotel chain now operates across five countries (Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, and the Dominican Republic) spanning two continents. The company aims to prove that their neighbourhood-centric hospitality model can successfully cross the Atlantic, implementing a smaller-scale, localized approach integrated into the local fabric and immediate environment rather than the large Caribbean resorts model.
