Royal Caribbean Group has ordered a sixth Edge Series ship from Chantiers de l’Atlantique for Celebrity Cruises, with a scheduled delivery in 2028.
This new ship will be a sister to the Celebrity Xcel, which is set to launch later in 2023, enhancing the already successful Edge Series that includes Celebrity Ascent, Celebrity Beyond, Celebrity Apex, and Celebrity Edge.
The Edge Series is recognized for redefining premium travel at sea, focusing on innovative design and unique guest experiences, with plans for the new ship to incorporate methanol capabilities for improved sustainability.
Celebrity Xcel is expected to offer seven new experiences and engage cruisers in decision-making through the Xcel Dream Makers programme.
