Tourism on the French Riviera has continued to perform well outside the main summer months. Local reports show visitors still arriving in early autumn. The trend supports more balanced year-round activity in the region.

September routinely crosses 80pc hotel occupancy. Travellers choose to avoid peak-summer heat waves and heavy crowds. Major events outside July and August include the Cannes Film Festival and Monaco Grand Prix in May, the Monaco Yacht Show in September, the Nice Carnival in February, and the Menton Lemon Festival. Visitors increasingly focus on hiking in Mercantour National Park, touring perfume houses of Grasse, and visiting museums of Nice and Antibes.

The luxury travel network Virtuoso reports autumn travel to standard European summer hotspots has more than doubled recently.
