Dublin Airport set a new September record of 2.6m, up 11pc on 2015. It was the busiest September in the airport’s 76-year history but growth rates for the month are slightly before the 12pc for the first nine months of the year. The airport is on course to handle 27.9m passengers this year, 60pc of those who travel to and from the island.
- Continental Europe was ujp 11pc to 1.4m.
- Britain was up 10pc to 825,000.
- North America was up 16pc to 317,000.
- iddle East and North Africa was down 2pc to 66,000
- Domestic was down 2pc to 7,800.
So far this year the number of passengers using Dublin Airport as a hub to connect to other destinations has increased by 15pc to 831,000 between January and September.
In total, more than 21.4 million passengers have travelled through Dublin Airport in the first nine months of the year, up 12pc on 2015. Dublin Airport has handled an extra 2.3m passengers in the first nine months of the year.
Dublin Airport has direct flights to over 180 destinations in 40 countries on four continents.
