Egis has appointed Shakir Khaja as Aviation Sector Director for Europe to drive growth in English and Ireish airports.
The global engineering firm made the appointment on 27 May 2026. Shakir Khaja brings more than 25 years of experience from roles at Heathrow, London City Airport and Fraport Greece.
He joined Egis from Arcadis where he held the position of Senior Director for aviation. In the new role he oversees expansion across the UK and Ireland with a focus on airport programmes that cover expansion, operations, sustainability and capacity optimisation. Egis has worked with over 100 airports worldwide including Dublin Airport.
