Emirates is bringing Oktoberfest back to flights and lounges serving Germany with Bavarian dishes spanning every cabin while its broader investments in wine and premium ground service gather pace. The menu will be available in every cabin from 19 September to 4 October matching the Munich festival dates. Frankfurt has the widest coverage with the menu appearing on three Emirates flights a day as well as inside its newly remodelled lounge. Munich, Düsseldorf and Hamburg are also in the mix each with two daily flights.
First Class passengers will receive the closest thing to a complete Bavarian meal while the offer becomes progressively narrower farther back in the aircraft. In First passengers can choose beef consommé or duck-liver terrine before moving to Wagyu sauerbraten with braised cheek or roast chicken with Kaiserschmarrn or apple strudel for dessert. In Business passengers will see a choice of short ribs or beef cheeks while Premium Economy will also offer beef cheeks but with different accompaniments. In Economy the airline is listing chicken bratwurst in puff pastry or chicken in paprika cream sauce.
In addition to the Oktoberfest specialties Emirates announced a sizeable upgrade to its wine program earlier in September which according to the airline has been built over two decades. Emirates states it stores fivem bottles in France and has made a cumulative investment of more than $1bn (€854m). In July Emirates launched its redesigned premium lounge concept in Munich and Frankfurt with the airline describing the new design as a blueprint for future upgrades.
