Emirates has opened its new lounge at Manchester Airport’s Terminal 2 with features including an open show kitchen and direct lounge-to-aircraft boarding. The lounge had a soft opening a few weeks ago but the Gulf carrier has now provided full details and images of the space located next to the C gates at T2. Emirates moved its operations from Terminal 1 to the new Terminal 2 at Manchester Airport in November last year and had been directing eligible passengers to the now-closed 1903 Lounge while finishes were made to its dedicated facility. The new Emirates lounge is the third to adopt the airline’s revamped design concept following Munich and Frankfurt with Mauritius and Istanbul airports also set to benefit from the new design this year.
Emirates’ new global lounge design takes inspiration from the carrier’s aircraft retrofit programme which is seeing more than 200 A380 and 777 aircraft being upgraded with new cabin interiors and seating. For the Manchester lounge this has meant design elements including herringbone flooring marble counters artefacts honouring international artists and Emirati culture and signature Rolex clocks displaying global time zones. The airline shared that the new concept features more than 50 design enhancements ranging from upgraded shower suites and wireless charging to a new dining area reimagined around culinary theatre and live cooking.
Guests will find an open kitchen and barista bar with a Made in Manchester food menu spotlighting local flavours and suppliers alongside an international menu and premium drinks including Moët and Chandon Champagne.Other facilities include Italian eco-leather seating universal power outlets at every seat prayer rooms and a Quiet Zone with soft lighting and sleep amenities. Guests will also note the lounge’s signature Emirates scent comprising bergamot citrus jasmine and soft wood. When leaving for their flight travellers will do so via the only lounge at Manchester Airport to offer direct aircraft boarding. The Emirates facility is open to the carrier’s business and first class passengers departing on any of the airline’s three daily services to Dubai as well as Skywards Platinum and Gold members travelling in any class
