New analysis has revealed that bed bug safety ranks as the top factor in hotel booking decisions according to Phocuswright research across 1,082 travellers in the US, England and France. Valpas provides independent certification that hotels can display at the point of booking. The study shows 79 pc to 84 pc of travellers would choose a certified four-star hotel over an uncertified five-star at the same price.

Seven in ten travellers check bed bug safety records before booking through reviews or AI tools. Around 80 pc would pay 3 pc to 5 pc more for certified properties. Certification could unlock €9.5 billion in additional annual revenue across the three markets.
