FITUR 2026 Awards recognise tourism leadership and sustainability

FITUR has held its 2026 Awards ceremony at WAH Madrid, recognising excellence in exhibition proposals, active tourism initiatives, sustainable projects and tourism research. The event has brought together representatives from institutions, tourism professionals, businesses and destinations from across Europe and beyond. Ana Muñoz Llabrés, Director-General for Tourism Policy at the Spanish Ministry of Industry and Tourism, has attended alongside Marco Sansavini, Chairman of the FITUR Organising Committee and CEO and President of Iberia, and Daniel Martínez, Executive Vice President of IFEMA MADRID.

The Best Stand Awards in the Countries and Regions category went to Guatemala-Inguat, the Egyptian Tourism Authority and the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture & Tourism. Madrid, Castile and León and Turismo de Galicia received recognition in the Institutions and Autonomous Communities category. Vincci Hotels, Meliá Hotels International and ALSA collected awards in the Companies category. The Sustainable Stand Awards went to the Government of Cantabria, Piñero, Castelldefels City Council and Turismo de Galicia.

The FITUR Active Tourism Awards recognised ‘Huesca, la magia de la aventura’ and ‘L’arròs de Castelldefels Enogastronomic Experience’ in the national category, while ‘Ruta de las Aves del Noreste Mexicano’ and ‘Festa de Caminhadas na Arrábida de Setúbal’ won internationally. The 23rd Tribuna FITUR Jorge Vila Fradera Award went to Núria Guitart Casalderrey, Professor at the CETT Barcelona School of Tourism, Hospitality and Gastronomy, for research on public management of tourism and innovation in urban destinations. FITUR reaffirmed its commitment to promoting innovative, responsible and value-generating tourism through these awards.
