The former Fred Olsen cruise ship Braemar has departed Scotland after nearly four years docked in Rosyth and is en route to the Harland & Wolff Shipyard in Belfast, where it is set to undergo significant technical work and upgrades.

Renamed Villa Vie Odyssey, the 924-guest vessel will receive enhancements including new public areas, a culinary centre, a pickleball court, and upgraded cabins for comfort and style.

Villa Vie Residences, the new operator, plans for the Odyssey to embark on its maiden voyage from Southampton after the refurbishment.

The ship, now part of a residential ship concept, will offer continuous global cruises and allow passengers to own cabins onboard, with a first world voyage visiting 425 destinations in 147 countries, including 13 of the 14 Wonders of the World.
