French hotels have experienced a 6pc increase in reservations and a 7.3pc rise in room nights from June to September 2026 according to data from SiteMinder based on 300,000 bookings. Average prices per night declined by 2.3pc to €276.13. September emerged as the strongest month with an 18.7pc jump in bookings and a 2.9pc rise in average daily rate to €292.61 the highest of the summer season.
The surge in occupancy successfully offset lower room rates maintaining strong competitiveness for the French hospitality sector through the peak summer months. European hotel demand is projected to peak in September 2026 with an 11.7pc increase in bookings overall. Purchasing-power trade-offs and extreme weather are driving travellers toward the shoulder months of June and September as well as alternative regions like the Channel coast and mountains.
While overall volume climbs travellers are increasingly seeking out value, mid-range pricing and dynamic pricing flexibility.
