The General Aviation Safety Council of Ireland is hosting a General Aviation Safety Evening at Weston Airport on 23 October 2026. The event begins at 19:30 and provides an opportunity for the aviation community to hear from industry experts and discuss key safety issues affecting general aviation operations in Ireland. The safety evening focuses on two topics as pilots prepare for the winter flying season.

The first topic is conspicuity and the importance of making aircraft more visible to other airspace users. The second topic is winter operations including seasonal hazards, weather considerations and practical risk management for pilots operating during the colder months. GASCI has long promoted the sharing of safety information and best practice across the Irish aviation community.

The event is expected to be interactive and encourages attendees to contribute their own experiences and lessons learned. Attendance is open to the wider general aviation community and pilots operating in all areas of recreational and private aviation are encouraged to take part. The meeting brings together private pilots, instructors, flying clubs, aircraft owners, regulators and other stakeholders.
