Global air cargo market grew by 2.9pc in September – IATA

The global air cargo demand measured in CTKs rose 2.9pc year-on-year in September 2025, with capacity up 3.0pc, according to IATA.

Africa led regional growth at 14.7pc in demand, followed by Asia Pacific at 6.8pc.  Europe–Asia trade lane grew 12.4pc, while Asia–North America fell 3.5pc for five consecutive months.  Within Asia volumes increased 10.0pc over 23 months of growth. 

Jet fuel prices rose 5.4pc in September despite lower oil prices due to diesel market tightness.
