Globus family of brands has appointed Karen Cameron as sales director for England and Ireland covering Cosmos Tours, Globus Journeys and Avalon Waterways. She joins on 2 November from Ambassador Cruise Line where she was deputy head of trade. Cameron will oversee agent relationships, training, familiarisation trips, product development and industry events.
Cameron brings more than 20 years of travel industry experience to the role. She succeeds Phil Shipman who stepped down from the role in June for personal reasons. In her new position she will oversee all sales activities across England and Ireland for Globus, Cosmos and Avalon Waterways.
Her duties include managing relationships with travel agents and trade partners, handling product development and marketing for tour operators, and leading agent training, roadshows and familiarisation trips. Cameron has been tasked with driving growth strategies and helping trade partners boost their river cruise and touring sales.
