John Galligan retired on Friday September 11 after more than 50 years in the travel industry and 36 years running John Galligan Travel. The Dublin-based agency has specialised in luxury cruises and polar expedition travel. FROSCH Ireland acquired the company in 2025 and has retained the team under the leadership of Jennifer Byrne, who has worked with Galligan for 26 years.
A retirement lunch was held at The Ivy in Dublin. Angela Walsh, Managing Director of FROSCH Ireland, and Jackie Sheehan, Sales Director, travelled to Dublin for the event. Walsh has stated that John Galligan Travel is a name synonymous with quality, integrity and trust in the travel sector. The acquisition has represented a union built on shared values and a commitment to client service.
Galligan remained involved with FROSCH Ireland as Expedition Cruise Ambassador. His expertise in expedition cruising from Antarctica to Patagonia and the Arctic has been retained within the organisation. The same personal service continues for clients, now backed by the resources and global reach of FROSCH Group. FROSCH Ireland has made several acquisitions in recent years including The Travel Broker in 2024 and Grogan Travel in 2025.
