The Great Southern Killarney has achieved five-star status from Fáilte Ireland in 2026. The hotel has undergone a rebrand under the theme Splendour, Untamed. Heiko Riebandt has been appointed director of culinary.

The property has more than 170 years of history. The rebrand was crafted with London design agency SEA. The theme balances Victorian grandeur with County Kerry surroundings. Upgrades transformed guestrooms, public spaces, and event facilities. The Arbour brasserie was redesigned with locally sourced ingredients from Kerry producers.
