A lone gunman opened fire at Reina nightclub in Istanbul’s Ortakoy district during new year celebrations, killing 39 people and wounding 69.
Turkey’s interior minister, Süleyman Soylu, has said the attacker is still on the loose.
Andaolu agency reports that 16 foreigners are among the dead. Nationalities incldue Israel, Lebanon, Libya, morocco and Saudi Arabia. Three French are among the injured. The night club is regarded as the glitziest and one of the most expensive in the city. See updates here.
