After the delivery of the largest of all, Legend of the Seas, six cruise ships remain scheduled for delivery in 2026 Explora III prepares for delivery in the coming weeks from the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy. Five additional vessels enter service in the fourth quarter and add roughly 27000 berths.
Vessels already delivered this year, led by Legend of the Seas, include the Norwegian Luna, the Four Seasons I, Mein Schiff Flow, Viking Mira, OOE Corinthian and Emerald Kaia. The 13 cruise ships introduced in 2026 show an average size of 94,715 tons and average capacity of 2085 guests. Their estimated total value reaches $9.5 billion with an average cost of $731 million per ship. Cruise lines including MSC Cruises and Adora Cruises take delivery of large contemporary ships.

- Explora III: Explora III is the latest luxury vessel scheduled for delivery to Explora Journeys from the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy in the coming weeks. As part of the growing Explora fleet, the ship continues the brand’s focus on ultra-luxury exploration cruising with elegant design, spacious suites, and multiple dining and lounge venues that emphasise personalised service and destination immersion.
- MSC World Asia: MSC World Asia is a large contemporary cruise ship under construction for MSC Cruises at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in France. As the next vessel in the World-class series, it features innovative design, extensive public spaces, advanced environmental technologies, and a high passenger capacity suited to MSC’s modern, high-energy cruising style.
- Adora Flora City: Adora Flora City is a new large contemporary ship building for Adora Cruises at the CSSC shipyard in China. The vessel forms part of Adora’s expanding fleet and incorporates modern facilities, multiple dining options, and entertainment venues tailored to the preferences of the Asian cruise market.
- Magellan Discoverer: Magellan Discoverer is a 100-passenger expedition ship under construction at the ASENAV shipyard in Chile for Antarctica21. As the only dedicated expedition vessel scheduled for delivery in 2026, it is purpose-built for polar operations with a focus on small-ship exploration in Antarctica and other remote regions.
- Seven Seas Prestige: Seven Seas Prestige is the new ultra-luxury ship for Regent Seven Seas Cruises, under construction at Fincantieri in Italy. The all-suite vessel offers spacious accommodation, elevated dining experiences, and comprehensive all-inclusive amenities that define Regent’s position at the top end of luxury ocean cruising.
- Viking Libra: Viking Libra is the first hydrogen-powered cruise ship scheduled for delivery by Fincantieri in Italy during the fourth quarter of 2026 for Viking. The vessel continues Viking’s ocean fleet expansion with a focus on elegant Scandinavian design, destination-led itineraries, and innovative green propulsion technology.
