Grupo Hotusa has inaugurated the Áurea Palacio de la Tinta, a five-star luxury hotel in Malaga, with the opening taking place on 10 September 2026. The project transforms a protected modernist landmark into an upscale asset for the city. The 10,500 square metre building was constructed in 1908 and originally served as the corporate headquarters for the Andalusian Railway Company.

The hotel underwent a €55 million restoration as part of Hotusa’s boutique Áurea Hotels heritage line. The interior design pays homage to Malaga-born Pablo Picasso, incorporating cubist elements, geometry and colour palettes. The original facade, main staircase and central Orange Tree Courtyard were preserved. The property offers 141 rooms including 7 suites and 9 junior suites.
