Rafael Jiménez Hoyos has been appointed as the new CEO of LEVEL, IAG’s long-haul airline, effective October 1, succeeding Fernando Candela, who is retiring after a notable career within the Group.

Luis Gallego, CEO of IAG, emphasized Hoyos’ significant contributions to Iberia’s operational excellence and positive growth trajectory for LEVEL’s global connections from Barcelona.

Hoyos has extensive experience, having served as Chief Operating Officer of Iberia since 2013, with roles in flight operations and safety, as well as a background as a commercial pilot and military combat pilot.

LEVEL aims to grow its fleet from six to eight aircraft by 2026, has reported strong operational performance this year, and is expanding capacity and routes to key international destinations, reinforcing its position at Barcelona-El Prat Airport.
