SURPRISE dip in Ireland visits to Spain in June

Spain hosted 324,760 Irish visitors in June 2026, down 9.2pc compared to June 2025 and up 18.7pc compared with pre-pandemic. The figures was slightly down on the figure for May, 328,459 , as June showed a monthly decrease for the first time in history. Overall Spain hosted 9.7 million international tourists in June, up 2.9pc compared to June 2025.

In the first six months of 2025, the number of tourists from Ireland rose by 3.5pc and the overall rose by 4.5pc. England was the leading country of origin with figures 6.8pc ahead of last year. Balearic Island ranked as the primary destination in May, accounting for 21.2pc of total tourists.
