The 67-bed five-star is owned by Killarney’s Treacy family. Harvey’s Point in Donegal, which had won best in Ireland for the last four years, finished second in Ireland and 22nd in Europe and Ashford Castle third.
Castlewood House in Dingle finished third on the TripAdvisor list of the world’s best bargain hotels, Ballyfin, Co Laois, finished seventh best small hotel in the world..

Tripadvisor users deemed Viroth’s Hotel in Siem Reap, Cambodia the best in the world, rooms average €105 a night and can be found for €88 a night. The Hotel Belvedere, in Riccione was best in Europe.
