Korean Air has approved a long-term investment plan covering the acquisition of 103 Boeing aircraft. The order consists of 20 B777-9s, 25 B787-10s, 50 B737-10s and eight B777-8F freighters as part of the airline’s fleet development through 2039. The South Korean carrier has also authorised the purchase of 21 spare engines from General Electric and CFM International.

The board has confirmed the investments will secure aircraft in advance under the airline’s long-term fleet strategy. Korean Air revealed the plan in a stock exchange filing dated 26 March 2026. The order expands previous commitments for B777-9s, B787-10s and B737-10s and includes the airline’s first commitment to the B777-8F freighter.

Korean Air currently operates a mixed fleet that includes A220-300s, A321-200NX, A330-300s, A350-900s, A380-800s and various Boeing types. The new aircraft will support both passenger and cargo operations with deliveries scheduled through April 2039.
