Walter Cho, CEO of Hanjin Group, shared that Korean Air is going to have to cut back on routes as it is currently short of five or six aircraft due to supply chain issues.
Korean Air operates 169 aircraft, but 23 are out of service for multiple reasons, including various models from the A220-300 to the B777 series.
Cho stated that a decision to order forty Boeing aircraft was made last year and that the airline has relied on Boeing for 55 years due to their dependability.
Despite a slight softening in passenger demand attributed to increased competition, Cho mentioned that cargo demand remains strong, especially in the first quarter of the year.
Responding to tariff uncertainties, Cho shared, “This time it seems more unpredictable. I really have no idea how it will play out this year.”
