From there, diners move into one of two 1920s-style railway carriages, each holding 24 seats with banquette seating and windows fitted for the journey.

The experience centres on a five-course progression tracing Marco Polo’s travels along the Silk Routes, moving through China, India, Persia, Turkey, and Italy. Digital window screens, sound design, vibrations, and a conductor’s narration deliver the route’s landscapes and history without theatrical excess. Each segment aligns with a course, presenting flavours tied to the region.

Signature elements include pork and shrimp siu mai from China, garnished with caviar; butter chicken and palak paneer in the India section; and dishes reflecting Persian, Turkish, and Italian stops. Preview tastings featured hoisin duck egg rolls (China), potato chop (India), and Adana kebab (Turkey), with options such as curries and biryanis available in the full service. The structure offers choices within each course for variety across the journey.

A sample flow, based on previews and official descriptions, runs as follows: an appetiser stop in China with items such as siu mai or duck egg rolls; a subsequent course in India featuring potato chop, butter chicken, or palak paneer; Persia and Turkey segments with grilled meats including Adana kebab; and a concluding Italian course with dishes such as lemon cheesecake or limone-inspired items. Wine pairings complement the sequence, and the menu supports multiple selections per course where tested.

This marks the second iteration of the Royal Railway concept. The original, named Royal Railway: Utopia Station with a Wild West theme, operates on Utopia of the Seas. Legend of the Seas introduces the Silk Routes version as the first on an Icon-class ship in this specific thematic form.

Bookings carry a cover charge, reported around $165 per adult in early details, with reservations opening in advance. The carriages accommodate a limited number per seating, making advance planning advisable for the 48-seat total capacity across both cars. The design prioritises immersion through consistent motion cues, evolving scenery, and regionally accurate plates served in timed alignment with the narrated stops.

No other Icon-class ships currently offer this exact Legend Station experience.
