LEGEND Lore: Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen: Specialty Italian on Legend of the Seas, aboard the world’s largest cruise ship

On Royal Caribbean’s Legend of the Seas, Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen occupies a space on Deck 6 on the second level of the Royal Promenade. This position places it above the main thoroughfare, with tables offering views down onto the promenade activity and some outward sea views through the structure. The restaurant features a rustic interior with an open kitchen element where pizzas enter wood-fired-style ovens.

Guests book via the ship’s app for dinner, with select sailings also providing lunch. It operates as a specialty venue with a per-person cover charge.

Meals begin with warm garlic knots. The menu mixes antipasti, pizzas, pastas, and classic mains, with dishes prepared to order in the kitchen.
Starters include an antipasti platter of cured meats and cheeses, Italian sausage soup, salami and mozzarella stromboli, and calamari served with polenta. Garlic knots arrive at every table.
Pizzas come as individual pies with bases such as Margherita (tomato sauce, mozzarella, fresh basil), pepperoni, meat lovers, mushroom with truffle and egg, or prosciutto.
Pasta and mains feature chicken parmigiana, fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, linguine with clams or shrimp, spaghetti carbonara, spaghetti Bolognese or pomodoro, salmon with penne, and grilled filet mignon. Nonna’s favourites, marked on the menu, often include osso buco and lasagna.
Desserts comprise ricotta-filled cannoli, pistachio panna cotta with raspberries, and chocolate ravioli (fried pasta dough filled with Nutella and finished with chocolate sauce).
Lunch menus offer lighter selections such as pizzas and salads, while dinner provides the full range. Portions support a multi-course meal, with servers accommodating half portions or substitutions where possible.

Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen appears on Icon-class vessels with its current placement and menu structure. It operates on Deck 6 of the Royal Promenade on Legend of the Seas, Star of the Seas, and Icon of the Seas. The same concept also runs on select Oasis-class ships, including Wonder of the Seas and Utopia of the Seas, as well as on Odyssey of the Seas, though exact deck locations and some interior details differ by class while the core Italian menu and service style remain aligned.
