LEGEND Lore: Sand and Salvage: Lost Dunes Mini Golf on Royal Caribbean’s Legend of the Seas, aboard the world’s largest cruise ship

Lost Dunes occupies an outdoor area on Deck 16 within the Thrill Island neighbourhood of Legend of the Seas. This upper deck placement integrates it with the waterpark and adventure structures, accessible via surrounding walkways that connect directly to other Thrill Island features. The course spreads across a dedicated section with clear lines of play and ocean exposure on multiple sides.

The nine-hole miniature golf course follows a post-hurricane deserted island theme. Holes incorporate interactive elements such as wreckage from a wooden ship, sections of a broken aeroplane, parts from a sunken submarine, toppled palm trees, and rock formations. Players navigate putts around these obstacles, with some holes featuring moving or elevated challenges that require precise angles and timing. Equipment including clubs and balls is available on site, and the layout suits mixed-age groups with varying difficulty across the holes.

The same Lost Dunes nine-hole course, with identical theming and interactive wreckage elements, exists on Icon of the Seas and Star of the Seas in corresponding Deck 16 Thrill Island positions.

Players collect equipment at the entry station before starting, with scorecards provided for tracking progress. The course operates on a self-paced basis during daylight and selected evening hours, weather permitting, with space for multiple groups to play simultaneously without overlap. Maintenance crews reset obstacles between busy periods.

Lost Dunes on Legend of the Seas delivers a nine-hole layout built around shipwreck and storm debris motifs, with each hole presenting distinct interactive challenges. The design and placement replicate the courses first introduced on earlier Icon-class vessels.
