LEGEND Lore: Windjammer Marketplace: The Central Buffet on Legend of the Seas, aboard the world’s largest cruise ship

0

On Royal Caribbean’s Legend of the Seas, Windjammer Marketplace occupies the aft section on Deck 15. This large self-service buffet spans much of the ship’s width at the stern, with extensive windows providing sea views and some sightlines down toward lower decks. It sits within the Chill Island neighbourhood, near pools and outdoor areas, and features multiple food islands arranged to manage flow. Guests serve themselves and choose from indoor seating or adjacent outdoor tables. The venue opens for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks, remaining complimentary throughout.

The layout uses stations rather than a single long line, with separate areas for different cuisines and repeated offerings to reduce congestion.

Offerings and Sample Items

Breakfast stations supply scrambled eggs, omelettes made to order, bacon, sausages, pancakes, French toast, yogurt parfaits, fresh fruit, pastries, and items such as eggs Bhurji or regional specials.

Lunch and dinner selections rotate daily and draw from global influences. Stations have included Indian curries with naan, Jamaican beef patties, stir-fried noodles and wok dishes, pasta with made-to-order sauces, carved meats, burgers, grilled items, Mediterranean salads and mezze, soups, and composed salads. Seafood options appear on certain evenings, with items such as jumbo shrimp or lobster tails on featured nights. Sides range from mashed potatoes and rice to vegetable preparations and fries.

Dessert areas feature cakes, cookies, puddings, fresh fruit, and ice cream. The menu changes with itinerary themes, incorporating Caribbean, Asian, or Mediterranean emphases on appropriate sailings.

Portions allow guests to sample multiple dishes across visits, with the station design supporting quick returns for additional items.

Windjammer Marketplace serves as the primary buffet across the Royal Caribbean fleet. On Icon-class ships it appears in its largest form on Deck 15 aft, with Legend of the Seas joining Icon of the Seas and Star of the Seas in this configuration and scale. Earlier classes, including Oasis-class vessels such as Wonder of the Seas and Utopia of the Seas, Quantum-class, and Freedom-class ships, carry their own versions of Windjammer with variations in exact deck placement, size, and station details, but the self-service global buffet format and included status remain consistent.

This buffet on Legend of the Seas supplies a broad range of international dishes in a high-capacity setting positioned for access from the upper pool decks.
