London Luton Airport has launched a new online journey planner designed to point passengers towards the quickest and simplest public transport to and from the airport. The platform’s route comparison and planning options cover train, bus and coach transport as well as road directions, with journey planning criteria including starting location, transport connections and travel time preferences. The initiative represents the latest example of the airport working with coach, bus and rail operators to encourage more sustainable journeys.
This autumn, London Luton Airport is partnering with National Express to provide up to 10,000 £2 coach fares. The discounted tickets cover 49 direct daily services connecting the airport and nine pick-up point locations across London including Victoria, Baker Street, Paddington, Marble Arch, St John’s Wood, Finchley Road and Golders Green. All services run 24 hours a day. Passengers can access the discounted fares by visiting nationalexpress.com/luton2 and applying the code LUTON2 at checkout. Tickets can be booked between 15 September and 31 October 2026 for trips taken between 15 September and 10 December 2026.
The initiative follows London Luton Airport’s month-long Fly and Ride initiative which allowed passengers with a valid printed or digital boarding pass to travel free of charge on every direct Arriva and Stagecoach bus to and from the airport. The Luton Airport Express allows passengers to travel from central London to the airport terminal in around 30 minutes from St Pancras International to Luton Airport Parkway station, connecting seamlessly with the DART people mover to the airport terminal in less than four minutes.
Oliver Jaycock, Director of Corporate Affairs at London Luton Airport, shared: “These initiatives, including the launch of our new online journey planner, share a common goal of encouraging passengers to make more sustainable choices when travelling to and from London Luton Airport. Working closely with bus, coach and rail operators, we are focused on making public transport more accessible, affordable and attractive. The journey planner is another practical step in helping passengers plan their trips with confidence, making it quicker and easier to compare routes and identify the most convenient public transport for their journey.”
