Maritime Fair returns to Turku, Finland

The 2026 edition of the Maritime Fair in Turku, Finland has taken place from 29 to 30 October. The event has been organised by the Aboa Mare Maritime Academy and Training Center. The fair has offered opportunities for maritime professionals, shipping companies, authorities, manufacturers, service providers, instructors and students to gain insights into the latest developments in the maritime industry.

Around 60 exhibitors have been expected to attend including most of Finland’s shipping companies. The theme of the first seminar day has highlighted career opportunities for students. The second day has focused on innovation, digitalisation, smart ports, sustainability and current challenges facing global shipping. Speed Networking has created opportunities for meetings between exhibiting organisations and students.

Visitors have been able to join guided tours of Aboa Mare’s simulator department including a new Kongsberg engine room simulator featuring a complete fuel system for methanol and battery-powered hybrid solutions. Captain Mikael Hildén of AMH Maritime has led a panel discussion on Russia’s shadow fleet exploring issues related to safety, surveillance and the future development of traffic in the Baltic Sea.
