Seventy maritime leaders convened at the Decarbonisation Summit this week on the newly launched Utopia of the Seas, hosted by the Royal Caribbean Group in collaboration with the Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping, to address challenges and opportunities in achieving net zero emissions.

The Summit, representing diverse sectors in the maritime ecosystem, focused on technology advancement, alternative fuels, and policy and regulatory frameworks as key themes for industry collaboration.

Discussions at the Summit emphasized the need for an independent platform to share crucial findings from pilot programs in the maritime sector, aggregate demand for low-carbon fuels by location, and develop principles supporting decarbonization goals within the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
