Marriott International has completed the comprehensive overhaul of its Barbados Collection following the reopening of Tamarind, an Autograph Collection All Inclusive Resort in Barbados. The multi-million dollar portfolio-wide transformation strategy took two years to execute. The strategy reshaped seven prominent properties acquired from the Elegant Hotels Group into distinct luxury, premium and all inclusive spaces. The oceanfront property on the Platinum West Coast now features 111 refreshed guestrooms and suites, upgraded public spaces and new dining concepts focused on Barbadian culture.

Options include Sugar Cane Restaurant, Harvest and Hive, 246 Bar and Restaurant, Sugar Shack and the island’s first air conditioned restaurant dedicated to authentic local cuisine. The reopening marked the end of Marriott International’s multi million dollar programme covering all seven properties in its Barbados Collection across luxury, premium and all inclusive brands. The property features 111 completely redesigned spacious guest rooms and suites. Dining options include several new culinary concepts including a dedicated beachfront venue and the island’s first air-conditioned restaurant specialised in authentic Bajan cuisine.

Families and children have accessed cultural activities including a new CAMP Club developed alongside Marriott Bonvoy bringing local arts, storytelling and music to children. A dedicated adults-only relaxation pool has stood among three freshwater swimming options. The completion of the overhaul reorganised all seven sister resorts across three distinct Marriott brand flags. Autograph Collection All-Inclusive has covered Tamarind, The House, Treasure Beach and Waves Resort & Spa. Tribute Portfolio All-Inclusive has covered Crystal Cove and Turtle Beach. The Luxury Collection has covered Colony Club as the first of its brand on the island. The reopening of Tamarind anchored the collection’s Lifestyle Stretch visually and logistically linking The House, Treasure Beach and Tamarind along the coastline. A Dine Around Programme has allowed guests staying at a Barbados Collection property to enjoy dining and activities across participating sister resorts. A complimentary water taxi has ferried guests between properties. Marriott Bonvoy Integration has allowed visitors to earn and redeem loyalty points fluidly throughout the entire seven-property network.
