The Explorer of the Seas, a Royal Caribbean ship, is facing a three-day delay in arriving at PortMiami due to a medical emergency involving a guest requiring urgent attention, prompting a course change to Las Palmas, Gran Canaria.

Originally scheduled to arrive in Miami on November 14, 2024, the ship’s new docking date is now set for November 17, 2024, after a stop in the Spanish port.

Royal Caribbean is compensating affected passengers with a complimentary 60-minute internet package, phone assistance for travel arrangements, and covering air change fees up to $200 for domestic flights and $400 for international flights.

Guests with independent travel plans are advised to contact their airlines directly, and the cruise line is offering discounted rates for extending beverage and internet packages during the additional days at sea.
