Grupo Fuertes and Satocan have opened The Salmar hotel in Tenerife. The property has added to the growing hotel supply on the Canary Islands and has reflected continued investment in Spanish coastal and island destinations. The Salmar has opened as a newly transformed four-star adults-only beachfront hotel in Costa San Miguel, Tenerife. The property welcomed its first guests following an extensive makeover and complete rebranding from its former names, the Vincci Tenerife Golf Hotel and Tenerife Golf & Seaview.
Satocan has managed the hotel and the property marked the group’s first property on the island. The Salmar has positioned directly on the seafront and focused heavily on a relaxed slower-paced philosophy. The renovation preserved the building’s original white facade while interiors were entirely reimagined into a cosy modern design. The hotel features 129 rooms outfitted in soft natural tones with many including private balconies with panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Guests have accessed a heated year-round outdoor pool lined with comfortable lounge chairs and Balinese beds, a hot tub, a steam room, a solarium and a wellness centre featuring a sea-view sauna. The property includes a Technogym fitness centre, a library, a games room and direct access to a scenic coastal boardwalk running into the nearby fishing village of Los Abrigos. The hotel features two bars and two restaurants. The culinary concept has focused heavily on unhurried Atlantic cuisine using fresh local ingredients. A major upcoming highlight has been the introduction of Camarote, a romantic à la carte restaurant specialising in grilled dishes and seafood. Camarote has featured its own separate entrance from the beachside promenade to welcome both hotel residents and non-hotel guests. The property has stood a short 3-minute walk to Playa de San Blas, steps away from Tenerife’s premier golf courses including Golf del Sur and approximately 3.3 km from Tenerife South Airport.
