Ryanair is extending its connecting flights service to Porto Airport from January 3. The move gives passengers an expanded route choice (20 in all), and allows them to book and transfer directly airside, with bags checked through, onto connecting Ryanair flights. The move follows the launch of connecting flights at Rome Fiumicino and Milan Bergamo.
Much of the emphasis is on the key market of Germany, with cities such as Dusseldorf and Dortmund getting more access to southern sunspots, including Lisbon and Ponta Delgada in The Azores.
Speaking in Portugal, Ryanair’s Chief Marketing Officer Kenny Jacobs said:“Starting with an initial 20 new routes, customers will be able to transfer onto their next flight without having to go landside, and have their bags checked through to their final destination.”
