The grand opening of Lidl’s first-ever pub, The Middle Ale in Dundonald (near Belfast), quickly went viral on social media after a violent brawl broke out inside.

Videos shared across Instagram and X show a chaotic scene where security and staff had to physically eject a group of men who refused to leave after last orders. The altercation spilled outside, leaving one man injured and requiring hospitalization, prompting an official PSNI investigation.

The opening day also faced social media drama when Instagram personality Mark Rowan of NI Traveller was asked to stop filming inside the premises, sparking a separate online dispute with the company.
