Red Sea Airlines has signed an agreement with SMBC Aviation Capital for new aircraft deliveries scheduled for July and August 2027. The deal was signed by Chief Executive Ahmed Shanan and Chairman Hatem Kenawy. This agreement is a primary step in the private Egyptian carrier’s strategy to scale its capacity. The airline is set to receive a 737-800 NG leased from Aergo Capital by the end of 2026.
The airline is currently in discussions with international lessors to secure seven additional aircraft. These additions aim to expand the current fleet of two aircraft to a total of 14 aircraft by 2028. The increased capacity will strengthen connectivity to major leisure and cultural destinations. Operations will scale out of Egyptian hubs including Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada and Sphinx International Airport, bolstering tourist access to the Red Sea region, the Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum.
To support the fleet growth, Red Sea Airlines is ramping up investments in safety, technical training, maintenance and upgraded customer experience technologies.
