- Status Match launched earlier in 2026.
- Multi-brand guests post higher average per diems.
Royal Caribbean Group has reported onboard spending above expectations. CEO Jason Liberty noted guests are paying more than anticipated. Half of Royal Caribbean guests are now millennial or younger and tend to take more frequent shorter trips.
Liberty linked higher spending to the loyalty push. Status Match launched earlier in 2026 and carries loyalty status across the group’s brands. Guests who sail on more than one brand post higher average per diems than single-brand guests. Loyalty members account for 40pc of guests.
The company noted its ability to identify and curate high-value customers results in higher margin and greater lifetime value per guest. Liberty noted resilience in the business and consumer. The changes support repeat visits and higher spending.
Jason Liberty shared “Onboard spend has been much stronger than we thought it was going to be. Not that we didn’t think people weren’t going to pay more than they did yesterday, but they’re paying even more than we had anticipated.”
