Royal Caribbean International has taken delivery its newest ship, the Utopia of the Seas, at a handover ceremony in Saint-Nazaire, France, ahead of its July debut in Port Canaveral, Florida.
The Chantiers de l’Atlantique delivered the ship five weekends earlier than scheduled, marking an important milestone after over two years of construction, with a celebration attended by over 1,600 crew members and workers.
Royal Caribbean Group’s President and CEO, Jason Liberty, emphasized the ship’s role in evolving vacation experiences responsibly, while President and CEO of Royal Caribbean International, Michael Bayley, highlighted the ship’s focus on providing unforgettable weekend getaways.
The Utopia of the Seas is set to debut on July 19 and will offer three-night weekend and four-night weekday getaways, including visits to Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas, aiming to deliver a variety of memorable experiences for guests.
